Stix privacy policy

Last updated July 18, 2026

Stix uses data to operate account login, profiles, sticker packs, public discovery, moderation, notifications, support, and account deletion, and collects usage analytics to improve the app. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Data we collect

  • Account and profile data. We collect account identifiers, email address, username, display name, profile bio, optional Instagram or TikTok usernames, and profile avatar data when you provide them.
  • Sticker and pack content. We collect sticker images, videos, animated sticker files, pack covers, pack titles and descriptions, sticker names, generated or edited sticker content, and related storage metadata.
  • App interactions. We collect information needed to provide Stix features, including likes, follows, downloads, hidden or blocked content, notification read state, and pack activity events.
  • Push notification data. We store Apple Push Notification service device tokens so Stix can send notifications you enable.
  • Support and moderation data. If you contact support or report content, we collect the information you send, such as message text, report reason, notes, and app or device details included with feedback.
  • Usage analytics. We collect events about how the app is used, such as opening the app, signing in, publishing, downloading, liking, or installing sticker packs, following creators, opening shared pack links, and search activity (how many results a search returned, never the search text itself), together with basic device information such as device model, iOS version, and app version.

Analytics

Stix uses PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how features are used and to improve the app. Analytics data is processed on PostHog's EU Cloud servers. After you sign in, analytics events are associated with your account identifier so we can understand product usage; they are never used for advertising, never combined with data from other companies' apps or websites, and never sold or shared with data brokers.

You can turn analytics off at any time with the "Share Usage Analytics" toggle in Profile > Settings inside the app. When the toggle is off, Stix stops sending analytics events from your device.

How we use data

We use this data for app functionality, customer support, safety, and product personalization. That includes signing you in, syncing your account, storing sticker packs, showing public profiles and public packs, preparing stickers for iMessage or WhatsApp, recommending and ranking content, sending push notifications, reviewing reports, responding to support requests, and processing account deletion.

Public profiles and public sticker packs may be visible to other Stix users. Private pack data is stored for your own account features unless you choose to publish or share it.

Before you publish a public pack, Stix asks for your explicit permission to use OpenAI, a third-party AI provider, for safety moderation. If you allow it, Stix sends OpenAI the pack title and description, category, your display name and bio, sticker names, and one pack cover or sticker image. This data is used only to review the public pack for safety. Stix does not send a pack to OpenAI unless you affirmatively allow that sharing. You can instead keep the pack private without using OpenAI moderation.

Stix automatically checks public profile edits for safety before publication. For this review, Stix may send OpenAI the proposed display name, biography, Instagram and TikTok usernames, and profile image. The previously approved profile remains public until the edit passes moderation.

Service providers

Stix uses Supabase for authentication, database storage, file storage, and backend functions. Stix may use Apple or Google sign-in when you choose those login methods, and Apple Push Notification service to deliver notifications. APNs tokens are used only for push notifications. PostHog (EU Cloud) processes the usage analytics described above. OpenAI processes the public-pack or profile-edit content described above only for safety moderation. Public-pack content is sent only after you give the explicit permission described above.

We do not sell your data, share it with data brokers, or use it for third-party advertising or tracking.

Account deletion

You can request account deletion in the Stix app. Your profile and sticker packs are hidden immediately, and your account data is scheduled for permanent deletion after 7 days. Contact [email protected] before then if you need help with a deletion request.
